Coeur d’Alene small businessman
and community activist Steve Adams

Adams, 45, is an Allstate insurance agent and a native of Coeur d’Alene, where he lives with his wife, Candace, and three sons, ages 16, 7 and 4.  He is a 1984 graduate of Coeur d’Alene High School and attended North Idaho College and the University of Idaho. 

As well as running his small business, Steve has been very involved in community affairs.  He is an active volunteer, serving as a youth sports coach and umpire, Sunday school teacher and leading an annual ministry to the poor.  He been a leader in Coeur d’Alene serving on the City of Coeur d’Alene Parking Commission and elected by his neighbors as Republican Committee Chair for the 39th Precinct.  He also is the 4th Legislative District Chairman, elected by the Republican Precinct Chairs in Coeur d’Alene in 2010 and also is the Vice President of Citizenship of the Kootenai County Reagan Republicans.

Adams had a strong introduction to electoral politics when he came close to winning a Coeur d’Alene City Council seat in 2009 against an entrenched incumbent. He announced in August he will challenge Democrat incumbent councilman John Brunning in the 2011 city election.
